Well said Jonathon. I'm a huge fan of the gratitude list myself. Taking action to write down all the things I'm grateful for always puts my life into perspective.

I think gratitude is the best way to count you blessing. It shows that you appreciate life, what you have and will soon attain.
God-Speed!

I agree with Nadia. We are not missing anything. Exoteric salvationist religions would have us believe that human beings were made innately flawed and thus doomed to suck at life. But that's only true if you believe it to be so.

Thus as you eloquently point out Jared, better off to consider ourselves as miracles.

Loving the picture of the eye btw! Very eye catching. Man I love terribly puns.

Megan,
Thanks for stopping by! It's all about progress right? I like the saying, "Before enlightenment, chop wood carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood carry water."

Nadia,
I would say that one of, if not THE, most significant discover in my journey is that I am already whole and complete. What makes this so valuable is that I no longer am constantly looking outside myself for validation or happiness. This also works in so many ways because conversely, I also realize I am not responsible nor am I capable of making someone else happy.

Sure sometimes I get caught up in the material or drama aspects of life, things going on outside myself. Since I am constantly working on a conscience contact with God, those times usually don't last long.

I love Nadia's comment, as well as your post.
Proclaim my rarity. What a great idea. That means I must acknowledge and embrace it first! I am still working on that, but it gets better every day, and easier every year.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Jared,

One thing that so many of us forget in our journey is that we are already whole and complete. According to various spiritual texts, we were created in the image of God (or the Universe or the Force or the Dude in the Sky or whatever term). God does not create imperfection so we are inherently perfect and whole. We are not missing anything.

The problem is that we lose sight of that perfection and get caught up in our issues. We all have things we need to work on and master. That said, it does not mean that life is without meaning. And I truly believe that miracles happen every single day.

Running water out of the tap on demand is a HUGE miracle that so many of us take for granted. When I lived in India, one morning, water did not come out of the faucet. I was floored. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. Actually, I did both. :)

Anyway, miracles are a daily event and a matter of perception. Hope all is awesome! :)
